PTSA Chair Descriptions

Jamba Juice Days – Coordinate Jamba Juice deliveries and distribution one day per month.
Chairperson(s): OPEN
Details: The Chairperson(s) coordinates with Jamba Juice to determine quantities, organizes pre-paid orders and distributes and/or sells at lunches one day per month. Committee needs to create a list of students who have pre-paid for Jamba in September. Committee needs a minimum of 4 people (plus 2 alternates) to run Jamba once a month during all lunch periods. Jamba in the past has been the 3rd Thursday of the month.
Hospitality – Coordinate events to show the Wood staff how grateful we are for their efforts.
Chairperson(s): OPEN
Details: The Chairperson(s) organizes October & March conference dinners for staff. The committee also coordinates Staff Appreciation Week in May and at least one "Parent Chat Night". Sign Up Genius is helpful to use to coordinate donations for events. Other events may be held as approved by the PTSA members.
Yearbook – Work with students and Kat (school secretary) to put together annual yearbook.

Details: Availability may include before or after school. First meeting should be held in October.
Community Fundraising - Coordinate fundraising events with local restaurants and businesses.

Details: The Chairperson(s) organizes events with local businesses interested in becoming our community partners. The chairperson works with the establishments to determine the date and type of event, what percent of sales are to be donated to Wood Middle School PTSA, and publicizes the event. This is intended to create mutually beneficial relationships with local businesses. The frequency and variety of these events are at the Chairperson’s discretion and all events are subject to pre-approval by the Board.
Wood Wear - Promote school spirit by providing Wood Middle School apparel and accessories options for purchase.
Chairperson(s): OPEN
Details: The Chairperson(s) selects the items and works with our approved vendor, Custom Ink, to select items, advertise at school and on the PTSA's website and arranges delivery of the items to school (if necessary). Items are subject to general approval of the Board. Click here to see the last round of items available for purchase.
Communications and Social Media - Updates the PTSA website and social media outlets.
Website Chairperson: OPEN
Social Media Chairperson: Mini Bhat
Details: The Chairperson updates the website and social media with PTSA events, school events, fundraising opportunities and PTSA meeting agendas/minutes. Also coordinates with Mr. King (School VP) to post on the official school Instagram if necessary.
Wood Winterfest – An evening social event at school for all Wood students celebrating school spirit.
Chairperson: Abby Flaherty
Details: The Chairperson coordinates games, activities, food and volunteers. There is good documentation of past events to assist in planning. The event is usually held in either January or February.
8th Grade Celebration – Coordinate a recognition event for the outgoing 8th graders.
Chairperson(s): OPEN
Details: The Chairperson(s) works with a committee to organize a special event for 8th grade students in June. This is in addition to the event/ceremony provided by the Wood administration.
